Creating a new episode is one of the most common tasks in AmperWave Podcasting.
To create a new episode:
- On the Shows/Episodes page, click the show to which you want to add an episode.
- Click + Create Episode. The Create Episode dialog appears.
- Enter the episode's information in the appropriate fields. For details about each field, expand the Menus and Options list above.
- Click and drag the episode file(s) into the Drop files here box, or click the Select Files button and select your file(s). The waveforms of the files appear in order in the waveform editor. For details on using the editor, please see Uploading and Editing Media. Note: If you are using ID3 tags to place breaks (as described in Preparing an Episode's Content Files), the breaks appear in the waveform bar. Click and drag their markers in the bar to edit.
- Once you are satisfied with the breaks and other details of your episode, click Next.
- Enter the episode's meta-information.
- Click Finish.
Best Practices for naming episodes:
- Do not include the show's name in the episode name. This helps to reduce redundancy in the playlist.
- We strongly recommend unique episode names, which requires a manual edit for each show.
- The name should call out a particularly compelling topic or item from the episode itself.
Best Practices for episode descriptions:
- We encourage you to write meaningful descriptions (this requires a manual update for each episode).
- Consider if this is the VERY FIRST TIME a user has ever encountered your brand or show. The episode description should compel them to download and give it a try.
- Be very careful assuming that you are only talking to existing users who are familiar with the brand and show.
