Each source distributing your show requires a channel. The channels section lets you create a standard channel for most sources as well as specific channels for specific sources.
- On the Channels page, click Create Channel. The Create Channel dialog appears.
- On the Info page of the dialog, enter the channel's name and select its format in the appropriate fields. Note: The Slug field is automatically filled, but you can edit the slug if you want to. The slug is used in the channel's URL and cannot include spaces.
- Click Next.
- On the channel content page of the dialog, select the show(s) (or content producer) you want to appear in the channel in the content in channel list. If you are creating the channel as part of a new show, select the new show.
- Click Next.
- On the Filters page of the dialog, you can filter the content of the channel using tags and/or categories. Only episodes that have the selected categories and tags will appear in the channel. To include all episodes, add no tags and select no categories.
- Under Options on the Filters page of the dialog you can set several options for the channel:
- Number of Items: How many items the channel can contain.
- Order By: Select whether the channel has the most recent or the earliest episodes.
- Audio Format: What format the audio in the channel will play as when downloaded from the channel. (For video-only channels, leave set to None.)
- Video Format: What format the video in the channel will play as when downloaded from the channel. (For audio-only channels, leave set to None.)
- Click Next.
- On the details page of the dialog, any channel defaults specified for the show will be pre-populated. Fill in the remaining fields with the channel's information.
- In the iTunes Categories list, select the categories where you want iTunes to include your new show.
- Click Finish.
If you are setting up a new show, you are now finished with that process. The show is ready to go.
