Depending on your role and permissions, you may not be able to view or use this page.
Administrators control users' ability to view, create, and edit in AmperWave Podcasting through the User List and Roles pages.
There are two types of permissions within AmperWave Podcasting:
- Network permissions, which include templates, channels, and analytics. This establishes the actions the user can take within the system.
- Content permissions, which are granted on a per-content-producer, per-show basis. This establishes the content users can view and work with.
Network Permissions
Administrators grant users specific network permissions using roles. The Admin role includes all permissions. Other roles can grant the following permissions:
- Templates
- None
- View: Users with this permission can view templates but not create, edit, or delete them.
- Create/Edit: Users with this permission can view, create, and edit templates, but not delete them.
- Delete: Users with this permission can view, create, edit, and delete templates.
- Channels
- None
- View: Users with this permission can view channels but not create, edit, or delete them.
- Create/Edit: Users with this permission can view, create, and edit channels, but not delete them.
- Delete: Users with this permission can view, create, edit, and delete channels.
- Analytics
- None
- Analytics: Users with this permission can run reports on audience numbers and other non-monetary information.
- Revenue: Users with this permission can run all types of reports.
Each of these permissions only apply to the content the user can access.
For example, if a person's network role gives them permission to create and edit channels, they can only create and edit channels for the content producers and shows they can access according to their content permissions.
Content Permissions
A user's content permissions grant them access to shows and episodes. There are two content permission levels:
- Admin: Users with this permission can create, edit, and delete shows and episodes.
- User: Users with this permission can create, edit, and delete episodes.
For example, in a system set up like this:
- Content Producer 1
- CP1 Show 1
- CP1 Show 2
- Content Producer 2
- CP2 Show 1
- CP2 Show 2
- CP2 Show 3
Someone with Admin permission for Content Producer 1 but not Content Producer 2 could only make changes to and create shows for Content Producer 1.
Someone with User permission for Content Producer 1 could upload, edit, and delete episodes for both CP1 Show 1 and CP1 Show 2, but not for any shows from Content Producer 2.
Someone with User permission for CP2 Show 2 could upload, edit, and delete episodes for that show, but not for any other shows, including the others from Content Producer 2.
