Information on Sources
To get more granularity in Source reporting, you can add a Source Parameter to the end of your streaming URLs you provide for apps and third party services like Alexa, your own app and more.
You will need to add ?source=<source name here> to the end of your stream links as shown here:
http://<stream-link>.m3u?source=tunein
You can put almost anything without spaces after ?source= and it will show up in the source report. We recommend using source names that are easily identifiable for your record keeping.
Examples include but are not limited to:
- ?source=Alexa
- ?source=<companyname>app
- ?source=mobileapp
- ?source=<companyname>webplayer
Note: When providing your stream links to third-party players, we suggest using source tags.
When there is no source tag provided, the user is put into the Other category. Until you provide the source tag for all places that your stream can be tuned into, the Other category will be apparent. We do not distribute links to any third-parties, so if you are trying to reduce the Other percentage, you'll need to work with your stream aggregates to add the relevant source tags.
